With a heart for social justice and a commitment to helping others, Ms. Pallis has worked directly for and on behalf of marginalized and vulnerable populations for 30 years.

Jana Pallis, MA

Jana Pallis, MA is the Chief Engagement Officer at the International Center for Compassionate Organizations. Her activities are directed toward developing and maintaining relationships with International Center partners, affiliated organizations, clients, and compassion stakeholders worldwide. Ms. Pallis previously served as the Director of the International Campaign for Compassionate Cities for the Charter for Compassion, succeeding International Center Director General Ari Cowan in that role.

She is also actively engaged in business and program development, training, marketing, consulting and coaching. Proficient in adult learning and behavior change theories, she is a teacher of Stanford University’s Compassion Cultivation Training, developed by Stanford’s School of Medicine with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. She developed a highly-successful health education curriculum for public schools K-6, a self-compassion curriculum for women and girls, a companion and training program for women’s homeless shelters, and a variety of programs to promote personal growth, transformation, and health and wellness.

She is a dynamic leader, executive, and educator with proven success in sustainable program development in the private, nonprofit, and public sectors. Ms. Pallis received her MA in Transformational Leadership from Seattle University, her BA in International Business, and she is a Certified Teacher of the Compassion Cultivation, Mindfulness, and Meditation curriculum from the Center for Compassion, Research and Education at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

With more than 20 years in the holistic health and wellness field, seven years in healthcare,
and 11 years as a health coach for diverse populations. Ms. Pallis is an excellent fit for the International Center's demanding work of fostering the value and compassion in organizations throughout the world.

An established writer, editor for NY Times Bestsellers, and public speaker leading national
seminars, she has appeared on national TV and radio programs. She has worked with former Russian Olympic Sports Trainers and US biochemists to develop an advanced sports nutrition product line that was utilized by professional basketball teams, and other professional athletes. She is knowledgeable, personable, and approachable — qualities that make her a valued and trusted member of the International Center team.

Ms. Pallis has worked directly for and on behalf of marginalized and vulnerable populations for 30 years in hospice and palliative care, homelessness, human trafficking, poverty, hunger, as well as with people in crisis, the elderly, youth at risk, women at risk, and the Special Olympics.
